District Conference Well Attended:
Twelve congregations sent 36 delegates who were joined by others to make the attendance over 75 persons. Roger Schrock, Moderator, led the conference under the theme, “Celebrate What’s Right With the World”, based on II Corinthians 5:17-20.

Shawn Flory Replogle, 2010 Annual Conference Moderator led the pastors in a workshop on Friday afternoon. Replogle also addressed the conference as did Kathy Reid, former Director of Association of Brethren Caregivers.

In business, the delegates passed the proposed Constitution, By-Laws, and Standing Rules based on a new district structure. Reports were received from various district committees as well as from Luci Landes, Standing Committee Delegate.

A 2010 Budget was passed with a total of $32,492 in anticipated expenditures. Two offerings were taken for District Conference expenditures. Combined offerings totaled just over $5,000.

Dale Grosbach, district treasurer, will be terminating his services at the end of 2009. The conference gratefully thanked him for is nine year tenure of excellent work through a citation and token gift.

The passing of the gavel concluded the conference activities. Jim Tomlonson received the gavel and will serve as MO/ARK District Moderator through the 2010 District Conference. Jason Frazer of the Bethany Congregation was chosen moderator-elect. Other officers elected were: Darlene Riley, New Hope, for the Gifts Assessment Team; Luci Landes, Messiah, Program and Arrangements Committee; Elizabeth Irle, Warrensburg, 1 yr. term on the Leadership Team; Gary Fike, Peace Valley, one yr. term on the Leadership Team; and Dick Wolfe, Greenwood, three year term on the Leadership Team.
